New Custom made Samurai Swords on the way

Friday and almost weekend for most of us. A couple of minutes ago we received some pictures of a new forge we’re working with for the last 8 months (behind the screen :D ) and we thought it was a good idea to shear that with you. We stumbled upon this small forge about a year ago when visiting some of our suppliers in China. It’s a very small forge with only a few people working there and the smith is a 30 year old fellow that does some great work.

Actually he’s the only one we talked to that really has some good technical knowledge about forging. He was the first one that knew, and could explain us about Ashi, Ko-Nie,etc. That are different types of activities in the hamon. No other smith we visited before could tell us about that.

So the blades he’s making are very well done but we still have to check the overall look and performance of this swords. We keep you updated of course . Here are some pics and we will upload some more later today.

  4. Hey Dimitri,

Not sure if you refer to the Paul Chen swords ? We didn’t received them yet so it’s hard to tell anything more at the moment. We are as curious as you are :D

We will post more about this once we received them which will be somewhere next week.

  12. Hi Dave

The Zhui Feng is great. I am still interested in a Wakizashi and Tanto from the same smith. Do you have any other stock and photoes of Zhui Feng swords.
I have posted a tameshi geri clip on my web site where I am cutting with the Zhui Feng Katana http://www.mune.muso.co.za, go to the gallery and video. There are also some photies of the Zhui Feng in action. The one where I am wearing black is a ppk (Paul Chen) and in blue the Zhui Feng. The reed grass I am cutting is very tough and the Zhui Feng handles them with ease. On the video I am on around the 50th cut with it and still going strong

The new swords look great. Will they be available without a “Hi” and can we get them with a longer tsukka?
