Muromachi period hitatsura blade with spots of tobiyaki

A beautifull hitatsura hamon with tobiyaki  if you ask me 🙂

For those of you who are no very familiar with Japanese terms i believe the simple explenation is that a hitatsura hamon is a hamon that includes spots of hardening in the body of the blade and or along the spine.

The spots on the body are often refered to as “Tobiyaki”  where the spots or partially hardened parts on the mune are known as “Muneyaki”

This wakizashi hamon only shows Tobiyaki where the hamon here from Walter Sorrells for example shows a lot of muneyaki
