Good day. I am in search of Tamahagane steel katana blades, folded and forged in the traditional way. I have been to a few smiths in Japan, as well as spoke with a few English, French, and American and they have told me that I will never find true Tamahagane steel available for purchase. Is this true or do I just have to look harder. I AM NOT INTRESTED BLACK SAND STEEL!!!!! I know that
Japanese black sand steel is a lower form of Tamahagane... but that is not what I want!! Any ideas... anyone?!

Hey,

The first katana can be found here : http://www.samurai-sword-shop.com/tiger-katana-206-prd1.htm
Yet, this one has a different color of ito and wrap. Only the fittings & Ito are made in Japan, the rest is "Chinese".

Tamahagane katana will be available and there's more news on the way, just need to find some time to put it all together :o

Hi,

i might be interested in the "first one" katana. Could you tell any more about the katana. Weight/ length etc. Is it a real Japanese made sword? Could you tell anything about the T10 steel? Will there also be Tamahagane katanas produced, like the tachi's?

P.s. the red laquer saya is beautiful!

Hi Dave. The tachi looks awesome. We don't get to see many of these elsewhere...

As for the blog, how about a Konron Forged steel shinken review?

Keep it up!
