Tosei Gusoku Armor (Late Edo Perido)

I know very little to nothing when it comes to Japanese Armors which means that posting stuff like this forces me to do some research so i can write a few sentences 🙂

What i’ve found is that Tosei-Gusoku are referred to as ‘modern armors’ . They were made from iron plates  instead of individual scales which used to be the case and so  required fewer materials and less time in construction.

They also  offered better protection against firearms and unlike classical armours, the weight of this modern armour rested on the thighs rather than the shoulders and was more comfortable for long campaigns.
