Antique Dragon tsuba - Edo Periode
This
is a true and genuine Japanese Tsuba made in the Edo Period ( 1603 - 1868)
A
tsuba or translated to English as the sword guard of a katana , is used
to protect the hand from sliding onto the blade. Lot of tsuba are finely
decorated and are considered as art works and are widely collected.
This
Iron tsuba here is made in the edo period and inlayed with gold. It is
signed but impossible to read what is engraved. It was profesionaly Restored
in Japan.
