Iaito & Custom Swords > Limited Samurai Swords Forged Samurai Sword view more pictures Forged Samurai Sword : Customized Practical Plus Katana This Forged Samurai Sword is originally build around the standard Practical Plus katana from Paul Chen’s Hanwei forge. While this samurai sword is not really build to handle a lot of (heavy) cutting exercises, it is still an ideal solution in case you’re looking for a nice entry level sword for practicing or collecting. The original fittings & blade hasn’t been touched since that would raise the price vs. quality issue of this sword dramatically. But… by painting the samé (rayskin) black and wrapping the tsuka (handle) with dark brown Japanese cotton ito it does look more nice and unique than the standard sword your friends have and the price can still be considered as more than acceptable. This samurai sword is traditionally build which means you can take the tsuka of the sword by removing the 2 bamboo pins and change the fittigns (or make a new tsuka) if you feel the need to do so. You can also find a signature on the tang (iron part of the sword inside the tsuka).
