Forged Katana with traditional stone polish
This forged katana of the Diamond class is a masterpiece of the smiths at Huanuo
Sword Art.
The blade is made of 1095 high carbon steel and differentially clay tempered
with an edge hardness of 58-60 HRC and a back hardness of 40 HRC.
What is making this sword other than 'the others' (Paul Chen swords for example)
is the fact that it is handpolished on imported Japanese Stones. This is a long
and very time consuming work that need 13 phases to complete one katana. On
99% of the production blades an acid solution is used to bring out the hamon.
This one is done only by handpolish, no etching. The blade has very little niku,
and the edge is very sharp, which results in a exceptional cutting ability on
soft(tatami) and bamboo targets.
A little note :When looking at the blades here in our shop (or any other place)
,do not touch the blade with your hand/fingers, the moisture an salts on your
hands/fingers can cause fingerprint rust marks on the blad of the katana. And
of course, do not touch the edge of the sword to check if it's sharp...Once
again, You may rust the blade by doing that and you may also cut yourself !
