My personal opinion top

Back in the days when i worked with Konron we had a series of swords were 9160 steel was used for the blade but when their forge closed down i really didn't see the need to follow the 9160 steel hype that was going on at that time and decided to keep it with T10 steel.

Even for the (cheaper) entry pieces such as the Yashi, T10 has proven to be an excellent choice.

Anyway...few months back the forge had made a few entry level katana with 9160 steel blades so, to make them happy and help them to get rid of them :) , i told them they could send them over.

It's a one time deal so when they're gone they won't be restocked.

Aside from the through hardened blade, they do come with a black iron tsuba and brass fittings.

The blade has a cross section of 8mm so it's pretty thick but the weight and balance is more than ok.

Long story short, a prefect entry level cutter  :)
