Paul Chen Swords > Practical Katana Practical Katana sword Paul Chen Practical samurai sword This practical samurai sword, forged by the smiths at the Hanwei Forge is one of the most popular swords in their practical series. It's battle ready and made for light cutting exercises. It's a very nice entry sword for the Japanese Budo practitioner. This practical samurai sword is build to withstand the rigors of sword practice and occasional tameshigiri but we do not recommend this sword if You're planning to do a lot of (heavy) cutting exercises. When you need to practise your technique on heavy targets such as bamboo poles , we recommend the Practical Xl Light katana or the Practical Plus Elite Sword . While this sword is not made in a real traditional matter and is a typical production sword, it's probably the best deal ( looking at the price/quality) you can find on the market today. The blade of this katana is differentially tempered and is featuring a real hamon line. All of the Paul Chen Japanese swords does have a enhanced blade. This is a process of using acid to bring out the natural Hamon to make it much more visible after polishing. Keep in mind that the tsuka (handle) is glued on the tang and that the ray skin is fake. That's the main reason for the price difference between this sword and his bigger brother the Practical Plus Katana SIMILAR PRODUCTS : Practical Plus Katana Practical XL Light Katana Practical Plus Elite Katana Practical Plus XL Light Katana Practical Pro katana Ninja Sword Ref :SPK-1070 List Price : €219.00 Your Price :€205.00 You Save : €14.00 OptionReg.
