Paul Chen Practical Plus samurai katana

The Practical Plus combat ready katana of Paul Chen is the big brother of the Practical Katana. It's made in a more 'traditional' way and probably the best deal if you're looking for good quality/price sword.

The blades of this sword and the practical katana are about the the same except for the hamonline.This samurai katana does feature a wave pattern hamon while the standard katana has a straight hamon. The lenght and thickness of the blades are almost the same.

This Paul Chen Practical Plus katana is combat ready but if You're looking for a 'good' cutter because you're planning to do a lot of (heavy)cutting tests this sword might not be the best deal for the job. We do recommend the Japanese samurai swords of the Jewel forge or the newly designed cutting swords of Paul Chen such as the practical XL light and the practical Plus Elite katana.

This practical plus sword features genuie Same (Ray skin) on the tsuka (handle), with a semi leather wrap (Tsuka Ito). The tang is double pegged witch makes it possible to change the tsuba of this sword very easely.

Within the last few years the smiths at the Hanwei forge did improve this sword in a very positive way. You can't expect the same result as buying a real nihonto which are priced at +6000 euro ,but you won't be disappointed when you have it in your hands !
