Kumo Katana - Japanese Sword This Kumo Katana model is one of the basic katanas in this serie. It is a very strong , functional battle ready Sword The blade of the Kumo sword is made of 1060 spring steel and thru-hardened. These swords are very strong and very good cutters. Because the blade of this katana isn't differentially hardened (by using the clay process) it doesn't show a hamonline.. It's not just a 'good chopper' but thanks to the imported Japanese fittings that were used to mount this sword, it does become a very nice collectors item as well ! The tsuka features genuie Same (Ray skin) on the handle, with an imported Japanese cotton wrap. This blade has a hi (groove) ,a basic polish and a mirror polished hi . The saya of this katana is not the usual black one you can found on many other swords; This one is a duocolor saya, brown with little black dots..You can find the same color combination back in the Sageo, which is imported from Japan as well. The katana issupplied with a cotton cloth bag. If you're a Budo practitioner and just like to have a good, functional, battle ready katana for tameshigiri (cutting exercises), this is one you can add to your 'to-have' list.
