Shirasaya Bag
This traditional made purple shirasaya bag is manufactured in Japan and is
pefect for carrying your blade mounted in shirasaya.
A shirasaya, which means "concealing scabbard", is a mostly-featureless
Japanese sword meant for safe holding japanese blades when not in formal fittings.
This style of mounting the blade was traditionally utilised for safe keeping or
transporting a blade of importance.
Shirasaya style blades would likely never make their way onto a battle-field.
However some examples of 'Shirasaya' type blades can be found in cloaked swords.
Also, many blades dating back to earlier japanese history are today sold in
shirasaya type mountings.
