My personal opinion top

It's not always easy to find a good balance between a durable & heavy cutter and an elegant and refined look.

Not that this piece is a perfect example but it's going into the right direction :)

The rather beefy blade with futatsu hi (fine double hi) and  massive O-kissaski (nambokucho style)comes with a traditional Kesho Hadori polish.

Did the blade get a full stone polish ? Nope.

Most of the groundwork (Shitaji or Foundation Polish) was done by a mix of machine & handwork. Only the last stage during the groundwork and the  final stage (Shiage)was done entirely by hand and the usage of Japanese stones & fingerstones.

Why not a full traditional polish ?

Primo : since it's a monosteel blade, there's not much activity (read : none) in the steel to bring up.

Secundo : besides the fact that it would be a waste of time, it would also be a waste of your budget since a full traditional polish would raise the price of this piece with about 600 euro.

The tsuba i've made myself so yes i can say for sure it's handmade :)

Same goes for the Tsumami wrapped tsuka with Japanese imported cotton. Fixed it myself and i can tell you this particular style (because of the pinching) is not very friendly for your fingertips but i was quite happy with the end result.

The beautiful habaki has a Japanese wave motive and was chiseled by Togoshu Roman Urban.

The fuchi, kashira and menuki are imported from Japan as well and although these are not handmade and or custom pieces, the quality of them are pretty high.

If you want to know anything more about this piece, let me know and i will be happy to provide you with that !
